I invented a fun little brain teaser. Iāve come up with 8 reasons why a house cat and hot sauce go together. Letās see how many you can discover without looking at hints š¼
Hint #1
My wording was carefully chosen to sound silly. This is because I want you to enjoy yourself. But it is also to trick you so you donāt realize this is a legitimate puzzle with an objective answer. Take a few days to ponder it. Donāt give up!
Hint #2
Why didnāt I say there are 3 reasons? or 12? Why does this riddle require exactly 8?
Hint #3
Why did I say house cat? No one talks like that. A normal person would have just said cat.

We all love abbreviations, right?Ā But Iāve noticed one that behaves rather strangely.Ā Most abbreviations in English are created by truncating the end of the word.Ā Some languages remove the beginning instead.Ā But this fascinating abbreviation does both and only keeps the middle.Ā Not only that, but it does something else very bizarre.Ā Since we are trying to shorten the word, removing letters in our goal.Ā While this oddball does remove some letters, it also adds a completely new letter that is not even in the original word.Ā Are you cool enough to figure out which abbreviation Iām referring to?
Hint #1
If youāre stuck, it might help if you take a break and go get a snack.
Hint #2

Hint #3
d
Solution
You must add the letter d to shorten refrigerator to fridge.

I understand this was not an easy book. For you to have completed it is a meaningful achievement. To celebrate your victory, I wanted to leave you one final message. It describes, not only how I feel about you, but also how you should feel about yourself. I hid this secret inside the book. To find it, you must first go to the beginning of each chapter and look for the sentence āThank you, parents, for this _____ snack.ā Make a list of all the different adjectives in the blank. Then use the first letter of each word to spell out my hidden message!
